OVERVIEW OF PROGRAMS
New-Lite Living Choices , Inc.( "New Lite " ) is a human services provider entity seeking to be an
industry trendsetter as it relates to employing a collaborative philosophy of transparency in
working with other provider agencies, LME's , DHHS , as well as regulatory entities ( i.e. DMA )
and consumer support organizations (i.e. Disability Rights of N.C. , N.C. Council , etc.).
Our organization, "New Lite," prides itself in offering quality skilled professional care.
Since 2003, "New Lite" has grown from a two-home residential operation into a multifaceted
provider entity with a unique array of services for an agency considered to be small-sized
in stature. Presently, "New Lite" provides consumer services for six LME catchment areas,
offering specialized Sexually Aggressive Youth Level III treatment, therapeutic foster care,
enhanced benefit services (Intensive In-Home), clinical home (case management) services, and
outpatient therapy.
Specializing in the treatment of sexually aggressive/reactive male youths (S.A.Y.), "New Lite"
has licensed therapists with S.A.Y. experience overseeing the overall clinical and therapeutic
support services rendered for our consumers. "New Lite" therapists are affiliated/members of
the Association for the Treatment of Sexual Abusers (ATSA). ATSA is an internationally
recognized organization comprised of treatment professionals, researchers, judges, victim advocates,
district attorneys, community corrections, juvenile courts, and law enforcement personnel.
Their mission statement includes the reduction of sexual assault through effective research,
policy implementation, treatment, and intervention of sexual abusers. Our 16 bed (4 residential sites)
program has been tailored to provide an optimally-individualized treatment experience using
an evidence-based clinical model which is S.A.Y.-specific in theory and in practice.
Our organization's Qualified Mental Health Professionals have been trained with this
specialized population, with more than 50 years cumulative mental health experience.
"New Lite" is presently working and collaborating with other S.A.Y. program entities offering
a step-down clinical care alternative for consumers, families, and stakeholders, to consider
when looking for S.A.Y.- specific services. Our therapeutic foster care (TFC) programs, as
well as home-based support services, are provided as viable alternatives to the residential
service model of treatment. The development of natural supports for each consumer is critical
for these programs, as they offer ideal opportunities to promote long term, ongoing recidivism.
